About the Band

The mission of the Arlington Heights Community Concert Band is to provide musical entertainment to the community, to provide opportunities for community members to join and be part of a musical organization, to provide for individual musical expression and growth, and to contribute to the community's music appreciation.

The Conductor

Adam La Spata

Adam holds a Master’s degree in musicology from Northern Illinois University and a Bachelor of Music Education degree from North Park University. He is in his sixth season as conductor of the Arlington Heights Community Concert Band and has recently served as pit band director for Westminster Christian School’s production of Anything Goes. Assistant Conductor

Dan Rogers, Assistant Conductor

Dan has played in both the horn and trombone sections for many years. In addition to performing and leadership positions, Dan is also our librarian and serves on the Board of Directors. Dan drives a school bus for the Palatine School District and, in college, minored in music. Dan lives in Palatine with his wife Joan, who plays percussion in the band and is its president.

The Members

There are approximately 60 volunteer members in the Arlington Heights Community Concert Band. Their ages range from 14 to 80+ years old. Some are extremely accomplished musicians, and some are not.  But all enjoy having fun and sharing their love of music with each other and with audiences at our concerts.

Membership is open to anyone 14 years of age or older who has experience playing a musical instrument. No audition is required, and placement is at the discretion of the conductor.
